Elisabeth RONGET (1893-1980) Still life with pitcher Oil on canvas Signed "Ronget" lower left 30 x 40 cm PROVENANCE Private collection NOTICE A French painter of German origin, she was a pupil of Ludwig Vierthaler at the Kunstgewerbe- und Handwerkerschule Hannover and a student in Munich until 1926. Continuing her university studies in Berlin, Elisabeth Bohm made friends with the painters of the Der Blaue Reiter movement, joined the Novembergruppe from 1926, and attended the Bauhaus in Dessau. She specialized in still lifes, nudes and portraits. Alongside her painting, she designed theatrical costumes in the style of those created by Léon Bakst, and produced fabric projects for leading Lyonnais fashion houses.
