Gennarelli" lower right Resting on a black resin base 31 x 52 cm PROVENANCE Private collection, then by descent NOTICE Amedeo Gennarelli was an Italian sculptor active during the Art Deco period. A pupil of Francesco Jerace, he emigrated to France in 1909 and settled in Paris. Particularly famous for his female nudes, he exhibited his first work in 1913 at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français, and participated regularly until 1936. He used materials such as bronze, marble, ceramics and sometimes wood. Some of his sculptures are manufactured and distributed by art publishers and founders Jules Levi-Lehmann and Arthur Goldscheider.
