Child's armchair in molded, carved and cream lacquered wood, - Lot 93
Child's armchair in molded, carved and cream lacquered wood, armrests with cuffs, armrests decorated with palmettes, waistband featuring framed rosettes, resting on tapered and fluted legs, floral trim in silk droguet. Stamped "L.MR". Louis XVI period. 66 x 48 x 39 cm (Chips from use, reinforcements under the seat, silk droguet in perfect condition) Details Our armchair is stamped "L.MR". This mark, which appears to be the signature of a sculptor, was found on a Louis XVI bergère stamped by joiner N.T. Porrot. Porrot. A delightful model, this charming child's seat was long owned by the Windsors. It occupied the Duchess's bathroom at 4, route du Champ-d'Entraînement in Paris's 16th arrondissement, the mansion having been the Parisian home of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor between 1952 and 1986.
