NOTICE
The "Kindjal" or "Khandjali" is a type of double-edged dagger found mainly in the Caucasus and Central Asia.
Our dagger appears to have originated in Dagestan, currently classified as an autonomous zone of Russia. Dagestan is a mountainous region bordering Georgia and the Kaspian Sea. During the period of this dagger's manufacture, at the end of the 19th century, this territory was under Russian control after decades of Persian and Mongol influence. It appears to reflect the craftsmanship of the Kubachi region, an area where silver craftsmanship was highly prized due to the silver mines exploited there.
