Initially a lithographer and ornamental designer, he later attended the Vienna School of Applied Arts and became a painter. He enjoyed success from 1919, thanks to his exhibitions at the "Community Art of Vienna". Supported by Josef Hoffmann, his works were exhibited at the Belvedere Palace, the Leopold Museum and the Albertina Collection in Vienna.
