NOTICE
French painter and engraver Michel Lablais trained at the Beaux-Arts d'Angers before moving to Paris in the 1950s. From this period onwards, he took part in numerous Parisian salons, notably the Salon de Mai, the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles and Jeune Peinture. He also exhibited at Galerie La Roue, and abroad in Germany and Switzerland. His work stands out for a certain finesse in the treatment of shapes and colors. His travels in Greece and Italy have had a major influence on his work, which is often inspired by southern landscapes. Alongside his painting, he illustrates several works of poetry and collaborates with contemporary writers such as Bernard Noël.
