ROYAL DUX Chestnut prancing horse in enameled porcelain. Royal Dux" factory stamp on reverse. Height : 30 cm NOTICE Royal Dux is the name of the porcelain company based in the Czech Republic that makes figurines and ceramics in neoclassical and Art Nouveau styles. A member of the Czech Porcelain Group, the company has been producing decorative pieces since 1853. Eduard Eichler ran the company from 1860 until his death in 1887, recreating designs from Worchester, Copenhagen and Sèvres. In the early 20th century, Royal Dux enjoyed great success thanks to the work of designer Alois Hampel. The company's pieces were distinguished by their pink triangle, a "certificate of origin, originality and quality". Royal Dux enjoyed a revival with Jaroslav Ježek's collection, presented at the Brussels World's Fair in 1958.
