NOTICE
A Canadian Inuit artist who worked in sculpture and printmaking, he is famous for his authentic depictions of Eskimo rituals and daily life. Trained by James Houston and after a trip to Japan, he worked in an art cooperative in Cape Dorset, where he adapted Japanese printmaking techniques to locally available materials, leading him to practice stone engraving. His work has been widely used to illustrate books and events relating to Inuit culture.
