NOTICE
An influential member of the Morvan painters' group, he trained with Jean Laronze and befriended Claude Rameau, Henry Déziré, Jean-Laurent Challié and Lucien Séevagen. He continued his training with painter Léon Bonnat in his studio at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He exhibited for the first time at the Salon des artistes français in 1902, and went on to show his work regularly at the Salon des Indépendants, the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Tuileries. Renowned Parisian galleries also welcomed his work at major events.
A highly eclectic painter, he devoted himself mainly to landscapes of his native Morvan, portraits and still lifes.
